BERRIES NUTS AND SEEDS FOR TREE NURSERIES

For over 15 years we have been involved in sourcing, collecting and supplying native tree seeds from Irish woodlands and hedgerows to specialised tree nurseries. As seed collectors we are officially registered by the Irish Forest Service. We are constantly looking for new sources of seed for all main native broadleaves found in Ireland and can pay a compensation to landowners who can provide access to a good seed source. If you think your farm or woodland is a good seed source for any of the species listed below you can contact us for a visit.

Edible Wild Mushrooms

Edible Wild Woodland Mushrooms found in the West of Ireland

EDIBLE FOREST MUSHROOMS

Our knowledge and experience with edible mushrooms is long standing and is rooted in the north Italian forest culture.
Woodland Care between 2008 and 2010 have been involved with a research project coordinated by the University of Limerick. The project is exploring the commercial potential of edible fungi in Ireland both as wild produce from mature woodland and cultivated on small diameter logs in broadleaf plantations.
Through this we have carried some independent commercial trials of our own. Following the success of these trials we are now organizing collection and supply of selected fresh gourmet forest mushroom within the mid west region.. If you are interested in regular supply of fresh forest mushrooms you can contact us.

Due to recurrent demand Woodland Care is now organising( in the mid west) courses in wild mushroom foraging and identification . A number of dates have been arranged for autumn 2011 at the IRISH SEED SAVERS Centre in County Clare ( see www.irishseedsavers.ie for programme and booking details) and at other venues in the Clare/ Galway area. For details please contact us by phone or email.
